As important as technology is, however, we have not lost sight of the importance of more basic client needs. While undertaking to provide the highest level of skill to clients' legal matters, we also recognize the importance of presenting our advice to clients in plain, ordinary language and to avoid, where possible, overly technical and confusing legal jargon.

OUR BILLING PRACTICES

The hourly rates for our lawyers reflect the years of experience, specialized training, and level of professional attainment in a practice area. Rates charged depend on the expertise needed. For matters of a general nature, we typically charge at a set rate or at a set monthly retainer. Personal injury cases are charged a contigent fee which is customary to the practice. Whatever is decided, we are prepared to be flexible.

Carney, Davies & Thorpe is also receptive to the special billing requirements that our business clients often have, such as the frequency of bills and the amount of detail that is required for business clients' accounting procedures. We have the capability of providing as much detail on our billings as our clients require, and work closely with clients in this area as we understand the importance of their internal reporting structures.
